Hello and welcome to another weekly update from the streets of Beckton. Let’s dive straight into what has been happening in our local area over the past week.

Road Rage & Assault

16/09/2026 (Beckton Retail Park): A male driver collided with a parked vehicle, subsequently becoming verbally abusive and threatening a female occupant sitting inside. The occupant's partner returned from a nearby shop to intervene, pushing the aggressive driver to the floor.

Assault & Criminal Damage

13/06/2026 (PowerLeague Jenkins Lane): Police responded to reports of a fight resulting in criminal damage, assault, and public disorder (affray). Several arrests were made at the scene.

Robbery

10/09/2026 (Royal Docks Road): While a motorist was driving along the road, a motorcyclist reached through the car window, assaulted the driver, and stole their mobile phone.

Theft of Vehicle

12/09/2026 (Chardwell Close): A black Audi A6 was stolen during the evening hours by means unknown.

Theft from Vehicles

15/09/2026 (Tunnan Leys): A disabled Blue Badge was stolen from a parked vehicle.

Attempted Burglary

15/09/2026: (Russell Road) A suspect was observed attempting to try the door handle of a residential property. When confronted by the occupants, he fled on foot towards Freemasons Road. The suspect is described as a Black male with shoulder-length dreadlocks.

Community Alerts

We urge residents to remain highly cautious of individuals dropping off leaflets offering unsolicited building and construction work. In a recent local incident, individuals accepted an upfront cash payment, commenced the work, but never returned to finish it. Please avoid providing upfront payments to unverified traders and always use vetted, reputable companies for home improvements. the builders were believed to be Irish travellers.
